If we don't learn to change the way we think, we won't be able to solve the problems we create because of the way we think

1st STUDENT HIKING "NATURE AS AN ART OF LIFE"
On March 30, our school's hiking group participated in the student hiking trip organized by the Heraklion Hiking Club in Fodele. We started the route from a picturesque village, stopped at a park, and then followed a rural road. We crossed orange groves and reached the riverside, where we walked near the riverbed enjoying the sound of the water.
We went up to the 11th century church of Theotokos, where we stopped for a tour. We descended through a path and reached another orange grove, where our host offered us tangerines and allowed us to taste kumquats from the trees. At the end of the field trip, the students shared their experiences of the sights, smells, tastes and feelings the field trip evoked for them!
The Hiking Club points out that this year's program emphasizes the need for a sensory and emotional approach to nature. The goal is to create learning environments where children will experience nature with all their senses and self-discover, focusing on emotions and their importance for their development. Nature is full of colors, scents, tastes and sounds, and children will discover them with their senses, expressing their feelings through pedagogical approaches such as Artful Thinking and Visible Thinking.
Scientific and pedagogical responsibility of the program: Eleni Poulla.
