During the seminar, contemporary pedagogical approaches were examined concerning the prevention of isolation, the management of disruptive and problematic behaviors, and the cultivation of positive interaction among peers. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of fundamental social skills, strengthening students' self-confidence, and understanding the levels of anxiety and weakness often experienced by students with learning difficulties.
Participants were trained in effective communication and collaboration strategies with both students and their parents, with the aim of strengthening the pedagogical relationship and promoting a supportive educational climate. Through experiential workshops, they had the opportunity to apply relaxation techniques and movement-based activities that can be widely used in the classroom to reduce anxiety and improve concentration and cooperation.
An important part of the seminar was the exploration of the role of art as a tool for pedagogical intervention. Ways in which visual expression can contribute significantly to supporting students with learning difficulties were presented, highlighting their creativity and promoting free expression. Techniques and activities inspired by Picasso, Gaudí, the Mandala technique, and other important artists were presented as examples, which can be incorporated into the learning process.
In addition, teachers were re-educated on the main types of disabilities—learning, intellectual, physical, and developmental—and discussed adaptation and support practices for each of them. The seminar provided a fruitful opportunity for colleagues from different educational environments and different countries to exchange views, experiences, and good practices, strengthening professional cooperation and joint efforts to address challenges.
