If we don't learn to change the way we think, we won't be able to solve the problems we create because of the way we think

Twenty-two students and three teachers from the 13th Gymnasium of Heraklion had the unique opportunity, to travel to Raron Switzerland, as part of the program MOVETIA titled "Länderübergreifender Klassenkontakt – Wasser und Nachhaltigkeit” ("Water and Sustainability"). («Νερό και βιωσιμότητα»).
During this enriching experience, students explored the Swiss culture and education system and experienced the everyday life of their peers.
During the trip:
We visited the capital city, Bern, where Swiss students gave us a tour, offering us valuable knowledge about its history and culture. – We participated in the school program, attending classes and interacting with students and teachers, thus gaining a direct insight into the Swiss education system.
The journey also included exciting activities such as sledding, snowshoe hiking to Unterbäch and visited the impressive Glacier Aletsch to Belalpthe largest glacier in the Alps.
– We tasted the Swiss tradition, tasting the delicious cuisine and of course the famous raclette at the Burgerstube in Unterbäch.
– We were hosted by families, gaining an authentic image of Swiss everyday life, thus strengthening cultural exchanges and creating strong bonds of friendship.                                                                                                                                                              -We spoke on the local television of Raron, canal9.ch, for our experience at the Swiss school and our participation in the Movetia program. Our visit was recorded on video and an article in the local newspaper, promoting our program and actions to the wider public.
This experience was invaluable as it exposed us to new cultures, strengthened our skills and created friendships that will last for years. We look forward to returning the hospitality in May when our Swiss friends visit our school!
